Hi all, I had the engine done over completely was driving it for a month then I had the cylinder head sent away for skimming, after putting it back it had a low ground reading on the engine. After putting a wire from the body to the engine the car started there after took it for a test drive around the block twice switched it off started again about five times it started. Then when I wanted to go for another test drive the car just shut off and has not started again ever since. Took it to the auto elect he says that the ECU was blown after having three chips on the ECU replaced the car still does the same. I am on the verge of cutting my losses and selling it. Now I am turning to anybody out there for help please!

Hello,

These problems can be tough but we can get it fixed. To me it sounds like you have a crankshaft sensor or ignition switch that is failing. Can you test for spark when the engine will not start? Here is a guide to show you how:

Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Cheers, Ken

Hi Ken, thanks for the information. The car was at the auto electrician and he told me the car has a voltage drop on the crank sensor when you turn the key he told me the ECU blew, but I have already had the ECU sorted out but the car still not starting.

Does the engine sounds okay when it is turning over? Can you see if you have fuel pressure?

Please run this test and get back to us.

Cheers, Ken

Yes it does. The only thing is there is spark up until the coil but from the coil to the engine there is nothing and the positive side on the battery gets hot when you swing the key.

You have spark out of the coil but not out of the distributor? If so it sounds like the rotor and cap need to be replaced or does it have solid state?
