THE car has been sitting in my garage for a year, I need to know how to get it road ready, I have not started it in 6 months so it does not start now I wanted to get the battery jump started, but not sure. The reason it sat so loner had to save up money for catalytic converter.

Good afternoon.

I would start by removing the battery and having it charged and load tested to be sure it is good.

Then I would change the oil/filter as when it sits this long the oil starts to separate.

Then you can safely start it and continue with your project.

Thank you for your advice, I cannot wait to get back on road. I want to know about the gas, I heard to dump the gas out, and the other rule of thought is add fresh gas to gas already to what is already in the tank.

You need to drain the existing fuel. Then add new fuel.

Just adding new fuel will not make old fuel good. It has to go.
