Few days back while driving out of the shopping center parking lot, the car just quit running all on a sudden. I tried to start. The engine turns but does not start. The AAA towing guy who towed my car told me by listening to the sound that it is either a fuel pump related problem or ignition related problem. I tested out today and found that there is no spark at the spark plug when I take out one of the ignition cables and connect it to a spare spark plug and try to start the car. How do I check the different components of the distributor to see if any of the components is not working. Someone suggested that it might be the ignition control module. How do I test it?

The distributors goes out all the time on these cars. I would get a rebuilt unit from Amazon. here is how to install it in the diagrams below also I have included a guide that can help as well:

Check out the diagrams (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.
