All of a sudden my car started cutting off when I put it in gear to go. I have had the fuel pump replaced, the fuel filter replaced, fuel lines replaced, changed out the throttle position sensor with a used part, changed the idle control valve with a used one and replaced relay for fuel filter and fuse. At first I could pump the gas and make it run then at a higher rpm it would finally "catch" and go by just pressing as normal on the accelerator. We pulled the fuel pump again and replaced the strainer on it. Now that the car is back together it is running worse than before. Now it will not even idle. I am at a loss and I desperately need some help. Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello, I'm Danny.

Just curious to know if the check engine light has been on and/or have any malfunction codes been read? If you don't have access to a scanner/code reader your local auto parts stores have a tool loaner program and can rent you one. Here is a tutorial showing what is involved:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/checking-a-service-engine-soon-or-check-engine-light-on-or-flashing

Once you have the codes read get back to us with the code number(s) and we'll be happy to help diagnose the vehicle. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Okay, the IAC has been changed out again with another one and still nothing. Ran the OBDI test again and different codes this time. They are P1121 and P1115.

So the TPS and the IAC both where changed again. This time the IAC got a new connection harness installed. I ran the OBDI test again. This time it gave me 5 codes. They are pictured below as well as the rest of the information that the scanner gave me. I can only imagine that this could possibly be a wiring problem. I don't even know where to start or what to do next. Please help!

Hello again.

Here is some testing information for the two codes you supplied. Both have to deal with the ECM (engine control module) P1121 deals with communication to the throttle position sensor and P1115 is communication to the transmission control module. Here is a tutorial showing how to test wiring:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-wiring

Below I've attached step-by-step pictures how to test. You mentioned five codes but you've only provided two. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Hello again.

Okay, here are the other three code step-by-step pictures for you. One again is related to the ECM communication to the transmission control module, one is for the throttle position sensor, and the other is for the idle air control valve. Looks like you have a lot of wiring checking to do. Here again is a wire checking tutorial:

Hope all this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.
