My sons car is stranded. He fell asleep with radio on which drained the battery. His key fob was recently damaged from dropping in a swimming pool. His key has a chip. He tried jump starting it which engaged the alarm system. He cannot shut the alarm off without his fob I guess. What should he do to charge his battery and get his car alarm to shut off and get it up and going again?

The best thing to do is replace the battery then lock the drivers door using the key, then let the car sit for one hour and then unlock the drivers door using the key and it should be reset.

Here is a guide that should help as well:

Please run down this guide and report back.

Cheers, Ken
