I had a problem with the connector to the cam shaft sensor, so I bought an after-market pigtail. Wires that exist are blk/Blu, blk/yellow, and blue. Pigtail are blk, blue, orange. Looking down on connector from right to left it shows 1, 2, 3. How would I hook up the wires and into what positions?

Hi,

This is tough not being there, but I will try to explain.

On your vehicle, there are three wires going to the camshaft position sensor, as you already know. Here is what each one does.

Black/blue is a ground.

Blue is the signal to the ECM.

Black/yellow is 12v power from the engine ignition fuse (interior fuse box).

If you look at the pic below, it shows where each pin is located in the connector. What you need to do is match the colors indicated in the schematic pic with the wire colors on the new harness. You indicated they are numbered. I'm not sure what color coincides with the pin number on the replacement part, so I can't give specifics.

Let me know if this helps. Also, if you could provide the pin numbers and colors associated with the number on the new connector, I should be able to help in more detail. Additionally, if you could take a pic of the new part, that will likely help me as well.

Take care and let me know if I can help in any way.

Joe
