There's over 2,000 potential diagnostic fault codes. More than a dozen of them refer to the camshaft position sensor, and they mean very different things. No fault code ever says to replace a part or that one is bad. When a part is referenced in a fault code, that part is actually the cause of that code about half of the time. Way too often someone asks for help after replacing an unneeded part that didn't solve the problem. I'd like for you to avoid that possibility. That's why your mechanic checks wiring and connector terminals first.
