Hi:
Is it only rough at an idle? Also, have you had the computer scanned for trouble codes? Most nationally recognized parts stores will do it for free. Keep in mind, when the weather gets colder, the engine runs richer so you may notice a small difference.

Let me know what you find.

Joe

Joe, thanks for the reply. The car idles rough and runs rough at a low speed but after a minute or two runs fine. I checked for codes but the ones that i'm getting are for another problem I have put out there, but have not gotten a reply yet, codes c1281, c1286, c1287. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Hi:

Here are the codes and their causes:

C1281 Stabilitrak Sensors Uncorrelated

C1286 Steering/Lateral Accelerometer Sensor Bias Malfunction

C1287 Steering Sensor Rate Malfunction

Based on these, there is a problem with the steering sensor system. Are you having any trouble with drivability related to the steering?

As far as the rough idle at start up, if it isn't too bad and only last a few minutes, I would wait until it gets bad enough to set a code. Otherwise, you'll end up replacing parts that are good.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
Joe

Thanks again Joe, I had replaced ebtcm and a motor mount because I had service susspention message, I was driving out the dealership when service stabilty system came on, they ran the same codes but said they needed more diagnostic time (money) to investigate. The message went away but twice this week while turning left, I heard a grrrrrrrrrr noise, seemed to loose power, and got a stsbility engaged message all in 5 seconds, then it dissappeared and it runs fine. I all ready spent 2300.00 at dealer and don't want to spend much more. The car has low milage, never been in snow, and is garaged. Warren
