2003 Cadillac Deville 81000 miles

On June 25, there was a terrible thunder storm. When I got home my car was leaking water on my left foot by the emergency brake pedal. Not only that. The water also leaked from the driver's side door (above my head) and the speaker (small round jewel speaker) near the windshield on the driver's side. I went in the house to wait for the rain to slack up. When I went back to the car the seat on the driver's was full of water because water was leaking from the sunroof.

I went to the Cadillac dealer on Saturday, and to find out that the service division was closed, but I did get to talk to a salesman. He told me that my problem sounded like the drains were clogged. I asked is that something I could find and his reply was it probably hard and maybe not.

My questions to you is, are there some drains that could be clogged? Where are the drains? Can I do something to fix this issue without going to the service dept?

Thank you for your time, C. Bolden

There are four drain tubes at the four corners of the sunroof. You can flow test the front ones by opening the roof up fully, and pouring water from a bottle of something at each corner, and not enough to overrun it. You should see the water level drop if they are flowing, and see water by each front tire. If they are clogged, you could try some compressed air. You dont want to get too carried away, or you may blow the ends of the tubes off at the sunroof frame connection. You can flow test the rear tubes almost the same way, but you would need the front of the vehicle high enough to get the water to run to the rear. Water should drain by the rear tires. The rear tubes are nearly inacessible unless you lower the headlining. You can access the lower ends of the rear tubes by peeling back or removing the trunk linings, and you will see the tubes connected to there pass through grommets.
