1992 Cadillac Deville starter

I have a 1992 Caddillac, Deville that has been parked in the garage for the last 4 years and not started. Every time I try to start it the solinoid hangs up and have to tap it to unstick it. The motor does not turn when it does this. We took the starter out and took it to a shop and they said there is nothing wrong with it. Any ideas?

Hi:
If it sat for 4 years, chances are it's dried out inside or something has developed rust internally and not releasing. The only thing I would say would be replace it.

I am assuming that there was no problem with the starter prior to storage.
