My 1991 Cadillac Sedan Deville is hesitating severely when I attempt to accelerate. I have checked the Air Filter, Vaccum Hoses, MAP sensor and replaced the Fuel Filter.
None of the above have helped the problem. Local parts store computer reading device will not connect to my Cadillac because it is too old but no trouble indicator lights are illuminated when the engine is running.
Stepping on the gas from idle just causes the engine to 'bogg-down' or 'bottom-out' but does not kill the engine.

Thanks in advance for your time.

Thank you for your advice and prompt reply. I searched some of your Symptom/Solution Topics on Hesistation and Stalling. Going through your checklist, I was able to determine that the problem was a clogged catalytic converter. Loosening the exhaust manifold from the engine block and starting the car and stepping on the accelerator just a few times I could tell there was a real difference in the way the engine responded!

Thanks again so much for your efforts and time. Without your website I would have been lost.
