Hi lakeshore ct. Welcome to the forum. It sounds like the AC drain is blocked but that would not be common for a three year old car. That's probably why no one has checked it. It IS common for the carpet to still be damp when they put it back in the car. It can take days for it to dry completely and no one has that kind of time. Some things to try include throwing your kids under the dash, then running the car through a car wash and watching to see if one of them gets wet! On a more practical note, after running the air conditioning for 20 - 30 minutes on a humid day, stop and let the engine idle for a few minutes, then look underneath between the two front tires to see if water is dripping onto the ground. It shouldn't take long to get a 6" - 12" puddle. If there isn't much of a puddle and / or the air inside feels clammy, suspect the drain tube is blocked. Unblocking it is usually a matter of squeezing the rubber hose under the hood. If that doesn't work, it must be removed to dislodge debris inside the spout the tube was connected to.
