HAVE A 94 CADI CONCOURS, WAS OVERHEATING, PUT IN NEW THERMOSTAT, NEW RADIATOR, STILL RAN HOT ONCE IN A WHILE, SO I BOUGHT WATER PUMP did not get to put it on yet. WAS COMING HOME FROM WORK, IT RAN HOT, TURNED IT OFF TO LET IT COOL DOWN, NOW IT WON'T START, THE BELT ON THE MOTOR JUST SPINS, BUT IT DOESN'T TURN OVER-ANY SUGGESTIONS ON WHAT HAPPENED? YOU GOTTA UNDERSTAND AS SOON AS I GOT A WARNING ON THIS CADI THAT IT WAS GETTING HOT, I WOULD TURN IT OFF, AND WAIT FOR IT TO COOL.I LOOKED UNDERNEATH IT TODAY, AND NOW IT LOOKS LIKE MY OIL PAN IS LEAKING, BUT IT HAS OIL WHEN I CHECKED IT. PLEASE HELP-IT'S MY ONLY TRANSPORTATION.

Hi:

It's hard to tell what is causing the no start. To start you will need to check for both spark and fuel. Both will be needed for the engine to run. Let me know what you find and we'll go from there.

Also, the overheating is most likely not caused by the water pump unless it wasn't turning for some reason or leaking all of the coolant. When you say the belt spins, do you mean when the engine is cranking?

Let me know.

Joe
