Engine Cooling problem
1998 Cadillac Catera 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

This 1998 Catera has oil in the cooling system, The color of the coolant in the radiator is baige or light brown. It doesn't overheat, it only shows this mix on the coolant, head gaskets were replace five months ago. No missing engine sounds fine. What could be the problem?

It is the DexA Cool GM uses when it gets old in turns color. Flush and fill is in order. This gunt is hard to get out but if you use Cascade dishwasher stuff it cleanes it out.

I would suspect your engine oil cooler in the valley, to be leaking. The engine oil is cooled by the coolant, at an exchanger in the valley, that is submerged in coolant. Your oil pressure is generally higher than cooling system pressure, providing a theoretical explanation for oil in the coolant.
