Everything was normal. Washed car, tried to start engine, would not turn over. Message center said that "starting is disabled due to theft deterent system. Remove key and wait, after three minutes it said to start car" Still not starting. I suspect that pass key resistor is worn down and not contacting contacts in lock. I went to caddy dealer and bough a new Number 12 pass key. Still not working. Engine does have primary and secondary ignition. Fuel pump runs the required 2-3 seconds when ignition is on, but will not run as specified until starts. Question is: is this a ECM, BCM, or a theft deterent modual problem. Do we have a GM electrical/computer expert out there? I know just enough to get myself in trouble. HELP! PLEASE name is Joe

You may have to change the ign swith. I had the same problem with my buick. Changed the ign switch and bingo. Please get a second opinion on this as this is an expensive option.
