I hit a large ice chunk and it cracked my bumper in two places. They are about 8in long and they don't split the bumper in half. Would it be better (cheaper) for an autobody shop to try and repair that bumper or would it be better the buy a new unpainted bumper for $150 and paint that? Thanks

Ask at the body shop. First of all, they aren't going to appreciate you bringing your own parts. That's like bringing your own food to a restaurant and asking them to cook it for you. If it doesn't fit right or has shipping damage, you will have taken on the responsibility for the additional repair cost.

They will use a "flat rate" guide to determine the number of hours to charge for repairing the bumper, and for replacing it. When you consider they need to charge around $100.00 per hour, it's going to cost a lot more to repair it than to replace it.
