i have a buick skylark 1997 and the serpintine belt broke a couple of weeks ago.i had the belt replaced and everything was running fine until the car broke down again.this time the belt slipped off and didnt break.what kind of problem caused this belt to slip off.thankyou

could have a frozen pulley or bent pulley somewhere. is everything working properly that drive belt runs? such as A/C working? alternator charging? power steering working? etc.. it may have not been installed correctly / tightened properly.
