My car seems to start harder after a short drive, like 5 or 6 cranks before it turns over. When it has sat for long periods of time, say like over night it only cranks 1 or 2 times and fires right up. I was thinking it is the fuel pressure regulator. I remember doing some trick with the vac hose to check this on the olds aurora s, is there any tricks to checking these

Remove the vacuum hose from the regulator. Turn the key to the run position. Look for any fuel coming out of the regulator's vacuum port. If you see fuel, the regulator is bad.

Thanks, I knew it was something like that. I use to work at a used car lot and learned a little bit about cars. I have moved on to the construction trade, but still work on my own cars. This rendezvous has made me get a little more education. Thanks for the help. Matt
