Turn the key forward again as if your starting the car. With thekey in the on position bring the gear shifter down to the 'reverse' position, let it sit asecond then bring the shifter slowly back up into park. Remember to pull the shifter lever all the way towards you as you shift from park to reverse & back up to park. If that don't release the key repeat it again but this time bring the shift lever down to'drive'again. Sometimes if the shifter isn't pulled all the way towards you when shifting it won't release from a gear or get caught id a gear between 'drive' & 'park'. That's why the key won't come out & it won't start. U can also try bringing the shift lever down to the nuetral position & turning the key tothe 'engine run' position. Ifthere's nothing wrong with your 'neutral safty switch' the car will start. If the key don't come out after you take it out of neutral & put it in park you may have a pin in the ignition tumbler that fell down. A new ignitions about $35 at an auto part store.
