Engine Performance problem
2002 Buick Regal 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

This is Regal GS (supercharged) w/47 k miles I was on the tollway and punched it to get into the exit lane --maybe 85-90 MPH. When I backed off the engine died. I made it to the exit and the traffic light. I tried to restart the engine. It took several attempts. Finally it started but wouldn't accelerate and died again. I restarted and let it idle. Finally it would take gas. I was only a few miles from home, but it died a bunch more times. I'm thinking: partially clogged fuel filter? Fuel pump going bad? I filled up last night and drove 180 w/o trouble. Check engine light is off. Thanks, Bill

Watch fuel pressure when this happens. This engine uses a fuel pump voltage resister to lower the fuel volume when driving it normal and overrides the resister at higher throttle and the resister goes bad fairly frequently. Its located behind passengers side headlight and looks like a old school ballast resister on a dodge. Let us know how you make out
