2000 Buick Regal Engine won't cut off

I hve a 2000 Buick Regal. Yesterday I was out in my car cleaning it out when my leg bumped up against my remote car starter remote control. The lights on the dashboard came on as if the car was going to cut on. The only thing that stopped it was my driver dorr was open. Normally when I have a door open nothing at alll will happen any door is open. I turned the key to try to turn the car on and possibly turn the key back so that the lights would cut off. Instead when I turned the key back the car still was running. I wanted to know what can I do to solve this problem.
