What does the sensor do? How does it work electically?
Is it n/o or normally closed to light the light? Is the wiring located near the water pump?

Hi there,

A cam sensor is a magnetic pulse generator, that is a magnetic pules is generated by the cam passing the sensor this pulse is transmitted as a Milli volt signal to the ECU to indicate exact cam positioning for engine management reference information, if the ECU detect that the cam signal is out of normal operating range this will trigger the check light with the cam code, the sensor has not caused the light to turn on directly, if you have a can sensor fault, replace the sensor.
