2007 Buick Lucerne 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 33K miles
The inside cabin turn signal alert intermittently fails to operate. Turning off the car will reset the system and then the alert will operate properly. This happens 2-3 times a week.
This car also has rear-obstacle warning system. I suspect there is a relationship to this intermittent failure and the rear-obstacle system. The turn signal alert is a computer generated alert, along with all the other cabin alerts including the rear-obstacle warning. All these alerts use the same computer output channel to activate the alert speaker.
The dealer has been unable to fix this problem and will not "swap" modules. Once I drove the car directly to the dealer when the failure occured and they observed the failure, but could not determine how to fix it. Once the car ignition is turned off the system resets and the fault goes away. After three attempt to get the dealer to fix the car, the only remedy they offer is to drive the car to the dealer when the failure occurs and they will loan me a car until they can get it fixed.
Anyone had a similar problem -- better yet, anyone had this problem fixed, and if so, how?
