Why does my oil pressure light come on and a bell sounds when I increase engine rpms? I have about 500 miles on an oil change. I use 10w 30 and change filter at 3,000 miles. As long as the car is idling the oil pressure light remains off most of the time.
Looking for an answer. Larry

Hi larry70. Welcome to the forum. First have the pressure checked with a mechanical gauge to verify the pressure really is low. If it is not low, replace the sending unit. If it is low, suspect a partially blocked pickup screen or the pickup tube is leaking allowing air to be sucked in.
