2001 Buick Lesabre Service Engine Soon LIGHT

Service engine soon light wont turn off. 2001 Buick LeSabre flunked MA State inspection for converter and EGR Valve. New converter replaced (direct fir after market) and new EGR replaced. Computer reset and light turns back on after driving a few miles. Reset several times and light still will come on. Whats up?

What code(s) are being set? Could be faulty oxygen sensor(s) causing the engine light to come on assuming it's an emissions related issue.

Code 1404 keeps showing up. Engine seems to continually recycle through but will not reset. Service Engine Soon Light returns only after a few miles after reset.

Check for poor connections at EGR and PCM connector. Check for faulty terminal connections or damaged harness.
