(not sure of wheel drive)

I notiiced dark fliuid all over the garage floor. I iniitially attributed to a combination of old grease, dirt and/or rain - snow fluid. However upon return from a short trip out of town the engine gauge appeared to show the temp getting hotter and eventually hit red zone. I went to an oil/lube place where I had this service done within the past 3 weeks and the radiator cap was real hot. Come to find out the fluid in radiation and reservoir were bone dry at this point. He refilled it and the engine cooled down dramatically. Today I notice more (clear) fluid under the car in the garage and I checked the reservoir. It is again bone dry. What is causing this leak? I had the water pump changed (twice) within the last year t

o year and a half. Obviously there is a leak. This is a holiday so I can't take the car anywhere. Tues is soonest and am leary about driving it any distance right now.

I want to keep the car, but I don't want to spend $1000 in repairs; can't afford that.

Run a compression test to rule out a headgasket or intake gasket.
If using Dex-Cool, there is a recall on this coolant, you may be able to get the leaking gasket fixed free.

If compresion is OK, then pressure test the cooling system (after coolant refill).

Hopefully, you have a bad hose or loose connection.
