First off I am not very savvy when it comes to car problems. So I am trusting the people who respond to give their best judgment on the issue I am having.
Today I was at a major intersection in the city, driving my '97 Buick Lesabre, and it seems as though the engine just gave out while I was idling in the lane for a left turn. I floored the gas but the car moved about 2 feet. The steering was all stiff as well. So I turned the car off quickly before I got rammed and turned it back on and I could move again. This was a very scary experience because this was one of the busiest intersections in the city and I thought I wouldn't get going again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
