This is a problem that started 2-days ago. When stopping, the brake pedal will be firm and you slow down, then it will drop an inch or so and it feels like you have lost breaking power, then it comes back, then it will repeat again. Once youve stopped and recycled the pedel, or if your already stopped (such as shifting from Park to Drive) the brake pedal will stay full (normal) and the brakes hold with out fading. There is no fluid loss or leakage anywhere. The problem ONLY seems to happen while your moving, and the harder you push the pedal, the quicker the cycle; brake-fade-brake-fade-brake. I' suspect it's something in the ABS, but the ABS light stays out once you start the car. Everything I can find online indicates this car only has ABS in the rear wheels and I'm wondering if it could be a faulty sensor. In 40-years of driving an working on my own vehicles, I've never come accross a problem like this.

It does sound like a brake sensor. Have you tried having the computer scanned? Also, I believe you are correct and it only has rear ABS. I would start by having the computer scanned for codes regardless of the light staying off. THere could be a code set. Also, you may want to make sure the connections on the sensors are clean and tight.

Let me know what you find.
