Transmission Flush

I have a 2000 Buick Century Custom, 3.1L V6, 72,500 miles. I bought this car in May, 2005 with 56,000 miles. Since this August, I drive in a stop-and-go traffic. In September, the car shaked when transmission shifted, while I was driving in a congested area. Then the symptom disappeared the second day. The similar symptom occured two years ago and the dealer fixed it.

The transmission doesn't have any problem now, and I don't have any repair nor maintenance records that were before the purchase of this vehicle. Do you suggest a transmission flush to better maintain the transmission? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks.

If the filter and fluid in the pan has never been changed, then no. Do not flush the transmission. Just change the filter and fluid in the pan. Tranny fluid gets thicker through time. Just the opposite of motor oil. If you put fresh fluid through the entire system, then there is a good possibility the transmission will start slipping. Believe me i've seen it happen more than once.
