I have driven this car for a year and half with a "thump" or "bump" when it shifts at10, 20, and 30 miles per hr.
It doesn't do it much in cold weather, more so on long drives or hot weather.
Will it quit me? It's hardly worth a major transmission repair.
I am the second owner. According to records, the first owner replaced the transmission at 77,000; I purchased it at 88,000.

Hello,
Does it do it when you shift into reverse? Is there a loud clunk when you first shift into drive from reverse?
If so, it sounds like a bad motor mount. Have them checked.
Very common problem.
Don't worry, engine won't fall out.
Also have throttle pressure cable adjustment checked. Causes hard shifting.
Would't hurt to put some Lucas trans conditioner in it.
If you do, pour it in warm trans very slowly with engine idling preferably mixed 50/50 with atf. Caution, do not overfill.

If this is helpful please donate. Every little bit helps.
