Do you mean the engine completely dies, then it restarts by itself? I a little lost on that one. However, for the engine dieing, has the check engine light every come on? Have you checked fuel pump pressure?

Hi, I'm Jessica I have the Buick Century 1992 Limited, thank you for responding to my question. Yes, the check engine light does come on an sometimes it stays off. I just changed the coolant censor today an there is no check engine light, but she still won't stay running. I haven't taken her for a ride yet cause I can't get her to stay started, It will stay running for about 2 minutes or a little longer, but then she dies again. When she dies she jerks a little an then shuts off? If your going at a decent speed she normally restarts herself? An then sometimes I have to restart her. I'm just lost, she's all I have. I hope you can help me. Thank you so much.

If the check engine light has come on, that means there is a code set in the computer that will identify the problem. Is there any way to get it to a nationally recognized parts store? They will usually scan the computer for free and let you know what the problem is.

Let me know.

Joe

It's Jessica, my Uncle has been a mechanic for awhile an he hooked up his computer to it an it said that the Mass Air Flow Censor was failing but when he pushed on the gas the computer was reading the Mass Air Flow Censor so my uncle thought it was one of the injectors. I've changed that too, but I got the Mass Air Flow Censor from a junk yard pretty much. So maybe that's it? Lol sorry I'm trying so hard. I've taking her up the street a couple of times to the store an she runs great until she warms up. Then she keeps dying. Sorry to bug ya, I'm just frusterated with her.

Does the same code still come up? If so, you may have gotten a bad sensor. Can you have it scanned again? I don't want you getting hit if the car dies on you.

I curious about something, what do you mean it starts its self, do you mean it will restart on its own without touching the key? Try this idea, on the side of the transmission when you open the hood, look and see if there is a 4 wire connector on the side of the trans case, it may only have 2 wires in it, but it will be a 4 wire connector, if you see it, unplug it and see what the car does, you may have a bad lockup convertor solemoid in the trans, this would cause bucking stalling and may explain the car starting on its own. Let me know how you make out. Lou
