Recently got my brake pads replaced, and the people told me my rotors looked good as well. Before and after replacing them I started hearing a louder whistling/squealing noise after about 5 to 7 minutes of driving and using the brakes. It’s only after driving and brakes heat up is when the noise starts. Mechanic people said they could not find the problem. Please help and is it safe to drive!

Hello,

Heating up of the brakes typically points to sticking caliper.
Does is heat up on both front or just one side?

A caliper can stick due to internal wear of the caliper or a clogged brake hose. If the brake hose gets clogged it will not allow the brake fluid to travel back when the pedal gets released. This makes the piston of the caliper stay in extended position and the brake pads rubs against the rotor (crating noise).

Being that your Impreza is only 2 years old and 26,000 miles, this type of issue should be covered under warranty.
Have you contacted the dealer with this issue?

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
