Which binding do you mean? Caliper pins/slides binding? Brakes grabbing due to contamination? Brakes that do not fully release? There are many different issues with brakes, some are simply dealt with.
For instance, a caliper that does not slide properly will show strange pad wear depending on how it is sticking. The cure for most of them is to remove the caliper, clean all of the sliding surfaces, apply some silicone grease to the parts, replace the brake pads and hardware, then reinstall and verify the caliper now moves the way it should.
If the issue is that the caliper piston isn't retracting properly, there are a couple possible repairs, one would be to replace the complete caliper. The other way would be to rebuild the existing caliper. In a shop the first is the common repair if calipers are available. That is mainly because it is faster.
