I recently had my brake pads replaced, front and back. Shortly after my brake assist, stable link and traction control lights are on. The fluid is not low. It looks like it’s a little above the max fill line. What could the problem be?

Let's start with checking for codes. The most common cause of this is a speed sensor issue or some other issue with the ABS system. However, it is a good idea to pull codes and go from there.

Here are a couple guides that will help with this:

Hi,

Chances are it is related to a wheel speed sensor. If one fails, it will turn on all the lights you mentioned.

The easies thing to do is scan the CAN bus system. CAN stands for computer area network, This ties together all the modules and computers, so anything that has been affected will be identified via a diagnostic trouble code. Here is a video that shows how it's done:

I would suggest having that done. If you don't have access to having it done, you could try having a parts store scan it for you. Most can't scan the entire system, but it may help, and they usually do it for free.

Now, if you can't have any of that done, here is a link that explains how to check each wheel speed sensor with a multi meter or volt meter:

I attached two pics below. The first shows the front wheels and the second shows the rear wheels. I highlighted the sensors to help you locate them.

At first, just make sure nothing was left disconnected or loose. Also, make sure the wiring to them hasn't been damaged.

Let me know what you find. Also, please feel free to let me know if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe
