I just recently had my upper control arm and my sway bar link replaced. Well, when I drove my car today at first it drove fine but then on my way home from work I would when I would press the brakes I would hear a thump sound a single thump sound then when I let off the brake would hear another single thump sound like thump thump. When I press the brake in and when I let off the brake only two thump sounds. What could that be?

Control arms not torqued properly, or possible more than that. Take the vehicle back and have them inspect it. A good shop will do that no questions asked.

Thank you. Could it cause more damage if I drive it until I can get it to the mechanic?

Hello, I am Danny.

Yes, take it back and have it checked immediately. It sounds like the bolts were not properly torqued. It will cause damage. Thanks for using 2CarPros.

With safety for yourself and the general public in mind, I would not drive it at all. I would call the shop and have them come and tow it back to their shop for an inspection. These things can kill people if it comes apart while driving. Safety is always first.
