My AC is blowing but it is not getting cool or cold. At first my BMW service person wants to start with the condensor. But I took it to another mechanic that said my condensor and compressor are fine. But I have an electrical problem. The AC is holding a charge and freon. This morning I got a message "engine failsafe program. Any suggestions?

The A/C issue might be something to do with the refrigerant charge, if even a small amount leaks out there can be a substantial degradation in the performance of the system. By a small amount I mean 4-5 ounces due to the limited amount of refrigerant in these modern systems. The possibility of an electrical issue is present, but if everything is working electrically, the clutch on the compressor is engaging, the auxiliary fan is working(important that it comes on if the A/C is on) and the fan is blowing air, then I would check high and low side pressures and when you do, let me know those numbers and the ambient atmospheric conditions(humidity and temperature) when these pressures are recorded.
