I HAVE A 1995 740IL, WHILE I WAS DRIVING MY BATTERY INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON (THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THIS HAD HAPPENED) AND THEN THE CAR DIED TWO MILES LATER. MY BATTERY WAS 7 PLUS YEARS OLD SO I REPLACED IT WITH A NEW ONE AND NOW IT WON'T START. MY CAR MAKES NO NOISE AT ALL. I JUMP STARTED THE STARTER AND I HEARD THE MOTOR OF THE STARTER, SO THE STARTER IS GOOD PLUS I HAD A DIAGNOSTIC TEST FOUR MONTHS AGO AND EVERYTHING WAS GOOD. IS IT MY EWS, DOES IT NEED TO BE RESET?

EWS could have lost it's alignment, yes. If that were the case, you will need to seek out someone with the appropriate software to perform the realignment process. What was the shop that did the diagnostic that you mention? Could they be of service?
