The 1995 M60 motors were a nightmare for BMW because they had a cylinder wear issue due to the process used to harden the cylinder walls called nickasil® that failed due to the sulfur content of our gasoline, most of which are either in the junk pile or have been replaced by BMW, at their expense. So to sum up, you either have a nickasil motor that has lasted this long or you have some other issue that is causing this oil consumption problem, probably the former. ♥
