1987 BMW 535i Two Wheel Drive Manual

How can I check the anti-lock brake sensors on this car to see if they are bad? Iread an article where someome checked them with a multimeter but it wasa a newer model than this one. Can I use the same procedure on this model?

The antilock system is pulsating the brake pedal just before the car comes to a complete stop.

The brakes may not be the problem, maybe the thrust arm bushings require replacement. See here: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=DC74&mospid=47231&btnr=31_0013&hg=31&fg=05
