I drive a 1984 528e with 140,000 miles. A few weeks ago, I had my oil changed, and since then, my oil light is acting up. If I drive on interstate for a while and get the oil (I'm using 10-W40) good and hot (and thin), my oil light begins to flicker whenever my engine slows down or my car approaches idle. Once I step on the gas again, I'm fine. I am not burning oil, the engine makes no odd noises, and it never smells hot. Does this sound like a failing oil pump? Or do I have bigger issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
