Car overheating. No circulation in radiator. Took thermostat out and it works fine. Getting cold air only out of heater ducts. Belt almost new and feels tight. Asked auto parts store if pulley on water pump could be turning and yet inside of pump broken or not turning to circulate water and they said no. Guy said he had worked for BMW and it is probably the "final stage" which if bad will keep the water pump from circulating water. There appears to be no circulation. The "Final Stage" thing is new to me. Top radiator hose gets hot and pressurized, bottom hose doesn't. What do you think?

Final stage of what? Could very well have a bad impeller in the pump, no car company is perfect. The pulley may be good, but the impeller in the pump may be the problem

Water pump is working. Bought new radiator, installed it and still overheating. Here is what I did. I filled the radiator up and let the car run. Could feel pressure in the top hose but not actually water. I shut the car off, pulled the top hose from the radiator, held it straight upword and filled it with water and stuck it back on the radiator and clamped it. I started the car again and it has worked fine ever since. The whole problem must have been too much air in nthe system to work properly.
