2003 BMW 330 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

convertible is moving freely up and down but it doen's seam to lock in place. I can operated manually with no problems. The locking mechanism is not shown in the service manual, or trobleshooting it only talks about the hydrolic system. When I try to open the top it will open and retract, but the cover for the top doen't lock in place making the light in the panell flash, I have to manually lock it in place. Any sugestion

I suggest you seek out your local BMW professional for assisstance. It may be something like the micro switch for the recognition of the cover being closed.

I had the same problem.I replaced the battery. Worked fine after that.I dont think ur battery has enough power left to fully open and close.
