Have a very irritating noise when the a/c - heat fan is on the lowest or nest to lowest setting. Have switched to a new cabin filter with no success. It is clearly audible even when the radio is on at a moderate level. Anyone have any ideas? Possible a bearing is going out in the fan? Or?

It might be several things. The final stage module unit sends a pulse width modulated speed signal to the fan motor, and I have seen that module cause the fan to make noise. It might well be the fan. There might be a noise from the expansion valve. I also feel compelled to point out that cyberspace is not good for noise diagnosis, I cant hear what you hear, if you get what I mean.
