Where is the battery on a 2004 325i sedan?

The battery is located in the trunk on the right side. You will need to remove personal items and the cover for the spare tire and then the black plastic cover on the right side hides the battery. Remove the negative terminal first. After replacement of the battery, the clock will need to be reset, and this can be done by twisting the stalk on the right (there is a left and right) until the desired time is displayed. Typically there is no need to reinitialize anything, but if needed, repost to me and I will guide you through the process
