Transmission problem
1993 BMW 320 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

hi i have the 5hp18 trany, the trany slip/race between 3rd-4th gears and goes in to limp mode when the overdrive comes in. i change the both input and output speed sensors but still having the same problem.

There could be an electrical issue, can you select all the gears manually? Is there a fuse out?

yes i can select all the gears manually. and the fuses are all good.

do u know were the wiring looms are on the trany?
does the trany work with the power steering?

Not with the power steering, no. The wiring inside the tranny could be damaged or there could be an intermittent issue with a solenoid.

i had check the solenoid when i change the sensors.
How do u test the wires the connect to the trany with the ohm meter?
