2001 BMW 318 Annoying whistling noise.

2001 BMW 318 Manual 58000 miles

When I have my heater to a low fan power there is a very annoying whistling sound. Like as if the air is having trouble getting through or something like that. I have changed the pollen filter but the noise remains. What could be causing it?

I have seen this before and as unlikely as it sounds, it is the final stage unit that controls the fan speed, not the fan. It will require removal of the glove box and the carpet trim. If you want to get a manual(recommended) go to Amazon. Com and order a Robert Bentley manual for your car. It is a high quality publication and I highly recommend you getting one for your model of BMW. If you need more assistance please repost to me. Dr. Hagerty
