I am interested in purchasing a 94 318is with 120,000 miles on it, the seller says it has a bad tranny. My question is how much would something like that cost to fix including parts and labor and a shop.

i have always wanted to own a bmw ever since I test drove one.

is this project worth my time and money?

please help.

thank you

Hi there,

Transmissions Auto & manual (you have not said wich) are complex items to repair. Asking for a cost to repair is asking too much with out removing and inspecting. You are better of contacting a transmission specialist and getting a quote on a change over reco unit. This way there will be no nasty shocks! If manual best change clutch and machine flywheel at the same time.
