1995 BMW 316 blown radiator

High, ive recently blown the radiator on my bmw 316i coupe, ive checked the best I can for coolant in the oil, there is none, ive checked for oil in coolant there is none, ive done this check about 4 times, but I have noticed that there is a very small oil leak at the left hand side of the engine at the bottom does this mean ive blown the head gasket as well please advise thanks guys

It could just be the head gasket. Sometimes the head gasket allows a bit of seepage as it ages. If you suspect some sort of cooling system issue (combustion gasses pressurizing the cooling system) there are chemical tests for this. It is also possible that the cylinder head casting itself has been affected and is possibly compromised, but that is a worst case scenario, I would suspect that only if there was an extreme temperature excursion due to overheating or driving after a cooling system failure. I hope that is not the case mate, a bit of oil past the head gasket is not unusual and is hopefully not so severe that you could overlook it and still safely drive your car à â Â
