If I turn the vent fan up, it gets very loud and sound like it’s stressing or about to go. Any ideas what should I replace to fix this?

Hi,

The blower motor could be failing. Are there any squealing or excessive vibrations when you notice the issue? Let me know.

If you look at pic 1 below, it provides the diagnostics related to the blower motor. Take a look through them and let me know if you are comfortable performing them.

If you find it is bad, the remaining pics are the directions for replacing it. Also, here is a link that shows in general how it's done. You can use it to help.

If you are unsure if the motor is the issue, record it when it's making the noise and upload it for me to hear.

Take care,

Joe

Hi Jacob and Nicholas, thank you for your speedy reply and expert advice! After a more careful examination and reference to a thread on this page I believe. It was a blockage of leaves and debris under the hood below the dash closer to the passenger side. It connects to the blower somehow. I also decided to pull the cabin filter which I had just replaced recently. I must have knocked a bunch loose when I replaced it. The new one was completely clogged with the leaves. I cleared the plastic flap under the hood of debris as well as the cabin air filter and the noise was gone!

Hi,

Thank you for that update. I know it will help others. As far as the blockage, it sounds like the fresh air intake. I've seen mice get in through there and use the cabin air filter as a home and bathroom. Ugh! The smell was really bad. LOL I'm still not sure how the driver was able to breathe.

Regardless, I'm glad to hear you found the problem. Please feel free to come back anytime in the future if you have questions or need help. You are always welcome here.

Take care.

Joe
