I blew up my posi and I need to know about the gearing. If I go hire gearing what are the pros and cons and what if I go lower?

You listed this as a four-wheel-drive. Both axles need to be the same gear ratio.
A higher gear ratio will give you more pulling torque, more engine noise, and more low-speed "get-up-and-go". It may cause a decrease in fuel mileage, but that can be offset by the engine not having to work so hard.
